On March 13, 2020, Chief Justice Charles Canady issued an Administrative Order limiting most face-to-face legal proceedings and suspend all grand jury proceedings, jury selection proceedings, and criminal and civil jury trials for a minimum of two weeks beginning Monday, March 16.

In response to the Supreme Court’s Order, Circuit Court Judge Veronica Diaz has issued an emergency order requiring telephonic appearances via CourtCall in all non-evidentiary hearings scheduled within her division.

This includes non-evidentiary hearings on the motion calendar, special set, and foreclosure calendar, regardless of length. It also includes all status conferences, case management conferences, and calendar calls. No in-person appearances for such non-evidentiary hearings shall be allowed absent further order.

This order supersedes the information provided on the division website to the extent it is inconsistent and all previous orders entered in any case requiring in person appearance for a non-evidentiary hearing.
